What have I been up to today? Servers.
I have been running Ubuntu for quite some time. I decided to get out of my comfort zone today and add a couple more servers to the ‘ole Proxmox. First up was Windows Sever 2019. You can get a free 180 day evaluation version direct from Microsoft. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/download-windows-server-2019
If you have ever installed windows of any variety, it’s a pretty straight forward install. Currently I’m only running RDP services and a DNS server. This is just for experimentation and learning Win Server. I’m planning on a deeper dive into Windows Server in the near future.
Second on the list was Rocky Linux 9.5. Rocky Linux is an open source Red Hat server I believe. I have heard good things about it and decided to give it a try. You can download it for free from the Rocky Linux website. https://rockylinux.org/download
I have it installed and updated. The only service I have running currently is XRDP for remote desktop capabilities. Looks like a nice distro! Like Windows Server, I plan to dive deeper into Rocky Linux in the near future.
Until next time.
